The half of your business nobody sees.
Rotas in a group chat. Fridge temperatures on a clipboard that keeps going missing. Three subscriptions doing one job badly. We build the internal tools that take that off you — made for your business, and owned by you.
What are business systems? The tools that run the business behind the shopfront — staff rotas, opening and safety checks, team notifications, job sheets, bookings, stock, reporting. Most independent businesses run these on memory, paper and WhatsApp, or on four different subscriptions that don’t talk to each other. We build one that fits, on your website, in your name.
This started as a favour. We built a restaurant client their site, they asked whether we could sort the rota out too, and it turned out that the unglamorous half of the business was costing them far more time than the marketing ever would. It’s now a proper part of what we do — and it’s the reason clients stay.
Tools for the jobs that eat your week
Staff rotas & shifts
One rota across every site, published in minutes. The team sees their shifts on their phone, changes go out instantly, and nobody misses one because it scrolled past in a group chat.
Team notifications by text
Shift changes, urgent cover, employee of the month — sent as a text that actually gets read, automatically, instead of a message someone hopes the team saw.
Compliance & safety logs
Fridge and freezer temperatures, opening and closing checks, cleaning schedules, food safety records — done on a phone, timestamped, stored, and there when an inspector asks.
Bookings & enquiry capture
Bookings, quote requests and enquiries landing somewhere structured instead of an inbox — with the follow-up chased automatically so nothing goes cold.
Dashboards you'll actually read
The handful of numbers that tell you how the week went, in plain English, on one screen. No BI tool to learn and no report nobody opens.
Joining things up
Your site, your bookings, your customer list and your accounting talking to each other, so the same information isn’t typed in three times by three people.
Built for real businesses, on real Friday nights.
Elvin’s Street Food runs three branches on rotas, automated employee-of-the-month texts and daily temperature checks we built for them. Sensory Space is opening on session and pricing decisions shaped by data their pre-opening site collected.
Eightish
Build enough systems for one industry and eventually you build the whole thing. Eightish is our own restaurant booking system — live floor plan, included text reminders, and an agent that fills quiet nights from a restaurant’s own regulars.
About Eightish →One painful routine first.
We don’t start with a system. We start with the job that annoys you most — the rota, the morning checks, the enquiries going stale — and build that one thing properly, in days rather than months. It goes in front of your team, it gets adjusted from real use, and only then do we look at the next one.
That keeps the cost honest, it keeps the tool shaped like your business instead of a spec document, and it means you never end up paying for a big platform you use a tenth of.
And you own it. Same rule as your website: what we build is yours, your data is yours, and there’s no per-user licence climbing every January. If you ever leave, it comes with you.
Common questions
What counts as a business system?
Anything the business runs on internally that’s currently living in a group chat, a notebook or a spreadsheet — rotas, opening checks, temperature and food safety logs, team notifications, job sheets, stock counts, enquiry capture, simple reporting.
Do I own the tools you build?
Yes. Same rule as the website: what we build for you is yours, and your data is yours. No per-user licence that climbs every year, and no platform holding your records hostage if you leave.
Why not just use off-the-shelf software?
Sometimes you should — and we’ll say so. It breaks down when you need three separate subscriptions to cover one routine, when the tool almost fits but not quite, or when per-user pricing costs more than the problem. That’s when a custom tool wins.
What does it cost?
Scoped and quoted for your business, built on top of a monthly plan. Most people start with one routine rather than a big system, prove it works, then add the next.
How long does it take?
A single tool is usually days rather than months. We build the routine that hurts most first, put it in front of the team, and adjust from real use before adding anything else.
Does this only work for restaurants?
No. Hospitality is where most of it was built, because that’s where the routines are hardest, but rotas, checks, notifications and job sheets look much the same in trades, clinics, clubs and salons.
What's the job you dread?
Tell me the routine that eats your week and I'll tell you honestly whether it's worth building — even if the answer is 'not yet'.
